From the Marine Corps to small business AI
I'm Chris Helm. I served in the Marine Corps as a Sergeant, with two tours in Iraq, before moving into a career in account management, software development, and technology consulting. Along the way I earned a Presidential Unit Citation and built a reputation for solving problems other people talk around.
I've spent years in client-facing roles — account management, production support, project management, and hands-on software development — which means I've sat on both sides of the table: the person promising a fix, and the person who has to actually build and support it.
Today I teach AI as an instructor and career coach at Nucamp Coding Bootcamp, and I've done hands-on AI and automation implementation work for small business clients directly — not just theory.
My job isn't to impress you with AI terminology. It's to find the two or three things costing your business the most time each week, and fix them — without disrupting what already works.
